1. Substance Information

  • Product Name: Chlor-Clean Tablets

  • Active Ingredient: Troclosene Sodium (NaDCC) – 1.7g per tablet

  • Other Ingredients: Available chlorine – 1.0g, Anionic surfactant cleaning agent

  • Form: Solid tablet

2. Intended Use

  • Application:

    Environmental surface disinfection, including treatment couches, communal areas, floors, and isolation decontamination.

  • Dilution:

    One tablet dissolved in 1 litre of cold water yields 1,000 ppm chlorine cleaning solution.

  • Frequency of Use:

    Daily use during clinic cleaning, deep cleaning after procedures, or outbreak control.

 

3. Potential Hazards

4. Risk Control Measures

A. Storage & Handling

  • Store in the original sealed container in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area (0–25°C)

  • Do not decant into unlabelled containers

  • Replace the lid tightly after use

 

B. Preparation

  • Only mix with cold water; never combine with other cleaning agents

  • Prepare the solution in a well-ventilated area

  • Label all prepared solutions with dilution strength and date/time

 

C. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

  • Disposable nitrile gloves (mandatory)

  • Eye protection (when preparing or spraying)

  • Mask/face covering in poorly ventilated environments

  • An apron if cleaning large areas or using multiple litres

 

D. Environmental Controls

  • Ensure the waste solution is disposed of into foul drainage

  • Prevent runoff into outside drains

  • Ventilate room well after use, especially in confined areas
